Title: Oracle Enterprise Manager Consultant
Duration: 3+ months Contract
Rate: $83/hr. W2 (or W2 Waive) DOE - Email Rate Expectation
Location: Austin, TX

Consultant for Migrating Oracle Enterprise Manager to version 13.3 in an AIX environment. Target Date for completion of upgrade is December 2019 or January 2020. Once the initial upgrade is completed the consultant will continue to perform additional monitoring improvements and upgrades to meet deliverables for the Oracle Upgrade project.

Scope of Work

• Upgrade Oracle Enterprise Manager from version 13.2 to 13.3.
• Upgrade OEM Agents and plug-ins to the latest available version.
• Test and verify upgrade steps and methodology in Non-Production OEM environment.
• Ensure the following success criteria for the upgrade are met:
1. Monitoring of targets on Oracle database systems is working correctly after the migration.
2. Monitoring works correctly with Oracle 19 databases, Grid Infrastructure, and other database system targets.
3. Database backup processes scheduled within OEM continue to work correctly after the upgrade.
4. Management of Data Guard systems functions correctly and OEM can be used to perform Data Guard Switchovers.
5. Ensure that OEM continues to correctly monitor Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliances.
6. Reports and extracts which retrieve data from the OEM database are working correctly.
7. Test and verify that OEM fails over correctly between data centers and that all system functionality in both sites after the upgrade is completed.
• Upgrade OEM Repository database to version 19.
• Update OEM documentation and procedures as needed.
• Transfer knowledge of OEM best practices to ERCOT staff.
• Perform upgrades of databases to version 19 after OEM is upgraded.
• Post upgrade, migrate OEM OMS Servers from AIX to Linux environments.
• Communicate clearly and effectively using written and verbal communication methods.
• Cultivate strong working relationships with personnel in other ERCOT IT and Business groups.
• Develop a roadmap for implementing functionality that maximizes the Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c feature-set.
• Coordinate with software vendor technical support.
• Coordinate and implement changes to development, test, and production environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Educational Requirements

• B.S. in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (4 year degree). An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered.
• 7+ years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible information technology work experience with various database management systems in database system design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration.
• 7+ years in Oracle Enterprise Manager implementation, upgrades, and configuration.
• 7+ years in Oracle Relational Databases including Performance Tuning, Patching, and Upgrading.
• 7+ years of a strong basic technical background based in Information Technology (IT) organizations.
• Hands on Experience with GoldenGate, Data Guard, and RMAN is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience in UNIX environments. AIX preferred.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP, SSAE16, and/or SOC compliance standards is a plus.
• Must be willing to share knowledge freely and teach skills and concepts to others.
